What is weekend hire?
A Weekend hire is Fri 6pm – Sun 6pm.
Who is responsible?
The licensed operator outlined on the contract is the responsible party for all aspects of the operation and safety of the boat and all its occupants.
Where do I pickup / return hire boats?
We are located at 3/11 Hi Tech Court Eight Mile Plains. We can also organise an alternative pick up point at Ormeau near the Driver Reviver.
What is long weekend hire?
a Long weekend hire is a 3 day hire eg Fri 6pm – Mon 6pm or Thu 6pm – Sun 6pm.
What is 24 hour hire?
Generally speaking a 24hr hire is 7am to 7am or 6pm to 6pm but do let us know if you have a preference as depending on boat movements we do try to be flexible,
What areas can the boat be taken to?
All smooth and partially smooth waters as determined by the Qld Government Maritime Safety Dept and published in the Recreational Safety Handbook.
What are the voucher terms and conditions
If you have purchased a voucher / coupon, these are the terms and conditions of hire: 1) Max 1 voucher per person 2) Purchase up to 2 vouchers as gifts 3) Bookings are required via website only and are subject to availability (first in best dressed) 4) Cancellation / re-scheduling policy of 72hrs applies; no shows void voucher 5) Launch and retrieve available at an extra charge, payable direct to Brisbane Boat Hire 6) Current boat licence is required 7) Security bond of $500.00 applies to all bookings 8) Fuel not included 9) Brisbane Boat Hire reserves the right to cancel a booking and re-schedule where applicable. 10) Vouchers can not be extended past ‘Enjoy by’ date on voucher, hire must take place prior to this date. ** The Voucher/Coupon company also has terms and conditions and we strongly suggest you take the time to read over all terms and conditions prior to redeeming your voucher ** If you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us.
Is there insurance and what does it cover?
Yes you pay insurance as part of your hire payment. The hire contract states that a bond is payable for minor mishaps with an excess of $2500 for a major accident in which the hirer is at fault.
Is it OK to operate the boat at night?
Most vessels can be operated at night (please advise on inquiry).
Is fuel included in the rental?
A full tank of fuel is provided at the time of hire and needs to be refilled on return. The amount of fuel onboard varies from vessel to vessel. Fuel is included for the half day hire on the V Nose.
Is a Boat License required?
Yes by law a boat license is required for all of our hire boats and a PWC licence is required to hire the Jetski. A receipt from QLD transport does not class as a licence, we require photo identification licence or hard copy is fine.
How much is the bond?
The Bond is $500 for all vessels to cover excess for insurance.
How is the bond paid?
Bonds can be paid by either Cash or Credit Card (Visa & MasterCard).
Does the boat need to be cleaned?
All boats need to be cleaned or rinsed (but not flushed) and returned in a reasonable manner before they are returned. If this is not done and extra cleaning is required then a fee of $55 will be charged.
Can the boat sink?
Brisbane Boat Hire boats are positive flotation compliant – they don’t sink.
Can the boat be taken interstate?
Yes it can.
Can a boat be delivered, launched and retrieved?
Yes the boat can be delivered to most areas in Brisbane and surrounds. A small fee to cover fuel and time is added to the hire fee. The quickest and least expensive fee is at Colmslie Reserve Boat Ramp.
Are the boats inspected?
Yes – inspections by both parties prior to departure and upon return.
